Community Event | On-site Mentorship and Inspiring Collisions in Gusu's Small Businesses

Release Date: 2025-11-19

"How can a 15㎡ snack shop attract online traffic? What kind of content script should we use?"

"Can the traffic strategy for Douyin's local recommendations really be applied directly?"

Questions were raised one after another, filling the venue with a passionate atmosphere of entrepreneurial exchange. On October 24, the "Small Business Revival · Creating the Future" series of entrepreneurial training activities, hosted by the Gusu District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau and Pingjiang Subdistrict, and organized by DoBe Yulangqiaobang, officially kicked off. The warm autumn sunlight streamed through the windows, illuminating the focused faces of the business owners and infusing this dream-chasing journey for Gusu's small entrepreneurs with the momentum to break through barriers.

The event integrated empowerment training, project pitching, and one-on-one mentorship sessions. Unlike formulaic training programs, it felt more like a pragmatic and focused entrepreneurial exchange. Participants immersed themselves in learning and interaction, collectively exploring new possibilities for small business operations.

Expert Empowerment

Unlocking Growth Strategies from Urban Opportunities to Operational Details

The event began with entrepreneurial mentor Ji Wenhan delivering a keynote titled "Breaking Barriers and Innovating in Small Business Operations", approached from both macro and micro perspectives. Starting with Suzhou's local business ecosystem, he dissected regional opportunities through lenses like "event economy", "morning economy", "floral economy", and "pet economy", helping attendees grasp industry trends. He then delved into practical aspects, systematically explaining how to optimize spatial layouts for higher efficiency, leverage viral content formulas across short-video platforms, efficiently design posters and videos, and implement the "three-step customer retention strategy". Each insight was drawn from real-world cases, and every tip addressed common pain points, earning nods and praise from attendees who found it "refreshing and practical".

"A small business isn't just selling products—it's selling a lifestyle," remarked Ji Wenhan, striking a chord with entrepreneurs and inspiring new approaches to business.

Pitching Highlights

Where Reptiles Meet Desserts—Niche Dreams Shine Bright

The project pitching session was equally captivating, with two business owners sharing their unique entrepreneurial stories fueled by passion and perseverance. Daxiong, founder of "The Crawling Universe", presented his "reptile world", instantly sparking curiosity. He shared how he transformed a niche interest in reptiles into a heartwarming venture and expressed gratitude for DoBe Group's support throughout the journey. This transition was not just a leap in operational space but also a testament to their precise positioning and sustained growth amid trends like the "loneliness economy" and "pet economy". "We want reptiles to be more than pets—they can be bridges connecting people emotionally," Daxiong shared, revealing new models, approaches, and opportunities in the reptile economy.

Jingjing, founder of ZeroLab, presented "edible art", using desserts as a medium to reinterpret the Eastern aesthetic charm of Suzhou culture, turning once-plain ice cubes into delicate, story-rich sweets. "From product to presentation, everything conveys a love for life," her creative philosophy offered a dual feast for the senses.

Different industries, the same passion. The sincere sharing from the founders sparked waves of applause, illustrating the diverse possibilities of entrepreneurship and redefining the splendor of dreams.

Mentor Diagnosis

Pinpointing Pain Points and Prescribing Solutions

During the "Dialogue and Diagnosis" session, entrepreneurial mentor Kong Lei adopted a traditional Chinese medicine approach—observing, listening, questioning, and analyzing—to deeply assess the pitched projects. He observed their form: scrutinizing operational status, store location, and the founders' demeanor. He listened to their voices: patiently hearing their entrepreneurial origins, growth journeys, and practical challenges. He questioned their core: probing into business models, user pain points, and profit logic. Finally, he analyzed the crux: leveraging his extensive experience in investing and incubating businesses to pinpoint root issues and prescribe actionable "operational remedies".

"The mentor's feedback was spot-on—it helped me clarify my priorities for the second half of the year!"

"I never knew there was so much to learn about small business design. Today was truly worthwhile!"

"Please organize more of these hands-on exchange sessions!"

Even as the event drew to a close, founders from sectors like pets, travel photography, coffee, and cultural creativity lingered, enthusiastically praising the initiative.
