The 2025 Chinese Debate World Cup Finals Successfully Concluded, with DoBe Continuing to Empower Youth Critical Thinking
On the evening of July 12, the 2025 Chinese Debate World Cup Finals were held at the Weibo IN Cross-Dimensional Gravity Field in Beijing. This year's event is jointly organized by the Chinese Debate World Cup Committee and the Debate Committee of the Beijing Youth Arts Development Association, with the Chaoyang District Cultural Promotion Center as a co-organizer. DoBe Group has provided support as a strategic partner for the third consecutive year.
Under the theme "Reaching New Heights and Manifesting the Universe of Discourse", the competition attracted nearly 200 students from 24 globally renowned universities, including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, Harvard University, and Imperial College London. Topics covered areas such as economic development, artificial intelligence, and artistic creation. After 38 intense matches, Renmin University of China and Macau University of Science and Technology advanced to the finals. The two universities previously competed in the 2024 Hainan Sanya Elite University Invitational Tournament, making this highly anticipated "rematch" a focal point of attention. In the end, Macau University of Science and Technology successfully defeated Renmin University of China and lifted the championship trophy of the Chinese Debate World Cup.
The final revolved around the topic "The 'resilience' of Chinese culture stems more from the tempering of hardship/the wisdom of joy", with both sides engaging in thoughtful debate from perspectives such as the historical continuity of Chinese culture and the inheritance of civilization. Professional judges, including Chu Yin, Deputy Director of the Digital Economy Think Tank; Zhang Aiping, coach of Xi'an Jiaotong University's Mandarin Debate Team; Chen Ming, Ph.D. in Journalism, teacher, and host; Xiao Lei, Vice President of Fanshu App; Yang Zijiang, Managing Director of Neeo Fund; Xu Zhuoyang, senior media professional and host; and Jing Yi, champion of the 2002 Elite University Student Debate Invitational Tournament, provided on-site commentary.
After the competition, campus pop creator Xu Fei, singer-songwriter Guo Ying (stage name: Yamy), celebrity debater Ma Weiwei, and Xiao Lei jointly presented a cross-disciplinary performance match for over 1,500 live audience members and more than 1 million online viewers, exploring the meaning of music.
As a strategic partner for three consecutive years, the DoBe Group empowered the youth debate ecosystem through resource integration. Beyond event support, DoBe completed a strategic partnership signing with event organizer Xixi Culture during the second "Cultural and Creative Industry · Shanghai" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. Leveraging DoBe's global resource network, this collaboration aims to support Xixi's comprehensive development, foster connections between youth and cities, culture and industries, and provide a superior growth platform for global youth through resource integration and platform building.
After over a decade of development, the "Chinese Debate World Cup" has established a comprehensive social activity system spanning 15 countries and regions worldwide, becoming China's largest debate competition in terms of coverage and participation. The event continues to connect youth ideals with contemporary themes, convey patriotic sentiments, and highlight the modern value of cultural heritage.
