Now I Feel Confident Coming to Suzhou for Hanfu Styling and Photography!

Release Date: 2025-11-19

"Alright, hold still, lift it up a bit, look towards those fish lanterns over there."

In a quiet alley near Suzhou's Pingjiang Road, photographer Xiao Wu is guiding his client. His lens isn't aimed at the bustling crowds on the main street but focuses instead on an open space that blends waterside rockeries, intangible cultural heritage fish lanterns, and steel-and-glass structures — DoBe Yulangqiaobang. Passersby can hardly help but be drawn to it.

"I was just casually strolling along Pingjiang Road, turned a corner, and found this place — so quiet and photogenic," said Ms. Gao, a tourist whose steps were halted by the ambiance. Her biggest concern for this trip was figuring out how to find a reliable photographer among the many options. "Before, it was all based on gut feeling and luck, which honestly left me feeling quite uncertain."

This time, however, her concern was unexpectedly resolved. She noticed that several photographers working here wore vests of a uniform style with identifiable logos and prominent work badges.

This change stems from the recently inaugurated "Gusu District Cultural Tourism Innovation Industry Chamber of Commerce Travel Photography Committee" and the "Pingjiang Subdistrict Hanfu Travel Photography Alliance". Established in late September, the Alliance officially began operations, with DoBe Yulangqiaobang elected as the chair unit. It joined hands with inaugural member units within the park, such as "Qishier Gufeng Photography", "Summer Momocha", and "Meng Yuntang", to collectively lead and promote industry standardization. For tourists like Ms. Gao, a visible, tangible, and trustworthy "travel photography choice" has finally materialized.

The Alliance provided photographers from its first batch of member units with uniformly numbered work attire and badges, implementing a "licensed to operate" system. This was one of the most noticeable industry changes during the recent National Day holiday.

"This is the credential issued by the Gusu District Travel Photography Committee and the exclusive identifier of the Pingjiang Subdistrict Hanfu Travel Photography Alliance," explained Mr. Wang, Vice Chair of the Alliance and founder of Qishier Gufeng Photography. "The unified identifier is like a 'visual contract', allowing tourists to quickly recognize compliant services." This effectively mitigates risks associated with the previously common "unregulated shooting" — from last-minute price hikes to shoddy finished products — providing more concrete protection for tourists' rights.

Beyond standardizing services, the Alliance's deeper significance lies in connecting and sharing resources. By linking with quality resources like the Suzhou Opera Museum, the Joy of Life 2 themed street area, and Meiluo Town, compliant travel photography agencies have gained access to exclusive shooting spaces.

"The Alliance has coordinated official shooting resources and unique venues for us, which is very helpful for businesses," Mr. Wang added. "Our clients can now access scenes previously difficult for commercial shoots. The themes are no longer limited to small bridges and flowing water; they can be immersive opera-style shoots or replica check-ins from popular TV dramas." This directly enhances the uniqueness and competitiveness of the work, ultimately benefiting tourists seeking personalized experiences.

As the Alliance's chair unit and one of the first designated travel photography location bases, DoBe Yulangqiaobang itself is rapidly becoming a new internet-famous check-in spot in Gusu. It gathers several high-quality Hanfu travel photography agencies from the area and is equipped with convenience stores, cafes, restaurants, and homestays, allowing tourists to easily complete one-stop consumption.

"After clients finish their photo shoots, they often linger because of the park's atmosphere," observed the founder of a cafe within the park. "They can enjoy food here, browse trendy cultural and creative shops. Especially when the intangible cultural heritage fish lanterns light up at night, many choose to stay longer for more photos, naturally extending the consumption scenarios."

Currently, this park, positioned as a "Hanfu Photography and Live Streaming Base," boasts a commercial occupancy rate exceeding 70%. The diverse mix of businesses is creating a wonderful chemical reaction with Hanfu travel photography services, jointly creating an immersive environment for tourists that is both "scenically beautiful and comprehensive in offerings".

From industry aggregation to standardization, from resource integration to ecosystem co-creation, DoBe Yulangqiaobang is systematically driving the transformation of Hanfu travel photography from a fragmented "traffic" business to a reputable, guest-retaining "retention" industry. This is being done through multiple dimensions: establishing standards, implementing identity verification, providing resource empowerment, and guiding through Party building.

Now on Pingjiang Road, tourists' choices are no longer blind. And spaces like DoBe Yulangqiaobang are no longer just parks in the physical sense — they are quietly reshaping the Hanfu travel photography experience in Suzhou by building an ecosystem where tourists feel assured and businesses thrive together.
